Fish Lake

On Labor Day weekend we went down to Fish Lake with the Olsen family. We had alot of fun. We also went to church at the lodge on Sunday. They told us to be early to get a seat. We got there 10 minutes early and only had the back 2 rows to choose from out of 830 chairs. Thats right 830 chairs!! I was amazed. It was jam packed. They said that there were about 875 to 900 people there, because there were people that set up more chairs and there were alot of people outside the building on the stairs and deck. It was crazy but such an awesome experience. Here are some of the things we did while while at Fish Lake. We:
Played in the trailer
Had picnics

Drank lots of pop
Ate too many snacks
Fished and...
Fished some more
Hiked a mountain and looked at Indian graves in the pouring rain.

Sat around

Caught frogs to bring home as pets but somehow they kept escaping. Wonder how:) Dont worry she still ended up bringing 2 frogs home. Lucky me!!
Tried carving wood with a plastic knife. Did not go so well.
Shot a potato gun
Played Annie I over with the tent acting as the house.

On Monday we took a boat out on Fish Lake (thanks to Cyndees fam)and fished. We all had alot of fun. I will have to say however that the women outfished the men thank you very much. After the adults got done fishing the kids fished next to the shore from the boat and caught some perch. Bronx loved the feel of the fish as you can see in the video and both Taija and Bronx had a fun time. Great time had by all.

Tambree, Brynn, Taija and Taylan

I always thought moms that have a hard time taking their child to Kindergarten on the first day had maybe some kind of detachment issue until I had to take Taija. As I was wondering why I was having such a hard time it dawned on me, it wasnt because I was going to miss her but because I was sending my little innocent child out into that mean cruel world. I can no longer protect her fully. I dont have complete control of her anymore, and it was then that I realized she was going to have to start making her own decisions and hopefully Aric and I have taught her well enough (and will continue)that she will make the right ones. On the other hand Taija loved it. She loves her teacher, Mrs Mills, and she has lots of friends in her class. I hope that she will continue to be this happy all through school.

Easter Weekend--Friday Fun

Everyone having a great time coloring Easter eggs!!

Autumn using her artistic abilities to draw Dace the Solor system and his motorcycle on his egg as per his request.

Dace showing the camera his Solar system. Too bad the pic didn't turn out very well because it was actually a pretty good drawing.

Taija with her beautiful colorful eggs.

A successful egg coloring day. All kids were happy and no spills of the egg dye. (We wont mention the one spill of the red dye that stained the one kitchen wall a light pink just in case mom is reading this. I am sure that she wouldn't mind though, it will give her an excuse to whip out her paint and paintbrush. Also the many times that Jaceleigh kept trying to eat her pretty egg once it got dyed, shell and all.)

Easter egg hunt

The best group picture that we could get before they went out on their Easter egg hunt.

As you can see Jaceleigh and Coen didn't last very long with the egg hunt.

We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids on Friday before Easter. They thought it was great fun. There wasn't anything in the Easter eggs for them but there was something better...a treasure hunt for them (thanks to Grandma Stream) to find their Easter surprises.
